Outer Banks of Virginia Oceanfront Home Sales Up 20%

Purchases of oceanfront homes in the Sandbridge area of Virginia Beach showed a 20% increase for the 12 month period ending 6/26. This year over year gain reflects the attractive prices of Sandbridge oceanfront homes compared to Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and New York beaches.

A high percentage of the buyers were from Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland. An increasing number of Buyers and Vacationers from these areas reflect the quick, easy access, moderate climate and the growing awareness of “Virginia Beach’s Best Kept Secret”.

The ten oceanfront homes that sold in this period had an average price of $1,238,000. This price was up 17% versus the previous twelve month period. Average days on market was shorter as well.
